We are going to take advantage of the Free First Thursday at local museums to visit The Nordic Museum this month.  And then walk to the nearby Ballard Locks.

The Nordic MuseumWith stunning architecture, exhibitions, and programs, the Nordic Museum traces 12,000 years of Nordic history, showcases contemporary Nordic culture, and shares how Nordic values and innovation can shape the future.  2655 NW Market St., Seattle.

Dedicated to collecting, preserving, and educating since its founding in 1980, the Nordic Museum is the largest museum in the United States to honor the legacy of immigrants from the five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.

In between, we will walk from the museum to the Locks. Google maps says it's an 8-minute walk. There are a couple of cafes and a Taco Time in between. Or pack a lunch and we can eat in the park next to the Locks.
